So, I have read a lot of blogs saying how great the shopping and savings can be at CVS, so I looked online at the ad and decided I would give it a try. I have always been a Walgreens shopper. It is closer and my Grandfather got me always stopping there for him years ago to pick up items for him. Anyway, I looked over the add, saw some great savings and decided I would go after Jake's concert. I signed up online for their Extra Care savings card (trademarked by CVS) so that I would be able to get the $ rewards when I went shopping.
After Jake's concert I headed out to the closest CVS store, got there at 8:25, which only left me about 35 minutes to quickly go through the store, but I knew what I wanted and planned on making a second trip later in the week to use the extra bucks on some buy 1 get 1 free items. 35 minutes allowed me plenty of time to walk the store and pick up the flier items I wanted plus figure out where the clearance or Clarance, as Jake and I like to call it, section was. When I got there, they were already vaccuuming which made it very loud. The lady did stop long enough to ask the next person who walked in the door (who l0oked like a customer, but I guess she personally knew her), "I am glad you are here, you got a cigarette?" I continued to walk down the aisle and didn't hear the remainder of the conversation and the vaccuuming continued shortly thereafter. After I have been browsing in the finger nail polish section for several minutes the vaccuum lady says, it a not so pleasant voice" Do you need help picking that out?" " " No, I am fine, but can you tell me where the band-aids are?" was all I could reply. I mean what do you say to that? " Lady, I have over 200 bottles of polish at home, sorry I have to look to see which shade is not already sitting in my bag at home, just go back to vaccuuming or smoke a cigarette and chill!" Is what I felt like saying.
She did and off I went to the grab some band-aids and then I would go back to look at polish, I decided. One quick look at my watch and I see it I still have 17 minutes to get band-aids and go grab polish then check out. The band-aid section looks rough, with the nice sale, most of the items are gone, but there is a box sitting sideways that appears to be.......
CLICK, CLICK,CLICK,CLICK,CLICK
There go the lights all turning off. I look to the left of me and there is a lonely light on in the pharmacy, I look to theright of me, there is a light on in the very front by the register. Now, I know I just looked at my watch, so I look at my phone thinking something is wrong with my watch. Nope, 8:45, there is still 15 minutes. Ok, maybe they closed at 8:30 and were being nice letting me in and stay? So, I ask the vaccuum lady, who is 2 aisles over " Are you closed?" " We close at 9, you have 15 minutes"
To which I reply " Then why are the lights off?"
Her reply......."We're closing!"
Am I missing something here?
You don't close for 15 minutes, so shouldn't the lights be on then?
I mean come on those 5 clicks took less than 10 seconds, surely you aren't in that big of a hurry. I can't see in the dark, in the back of a store with no lights to try to read polish labels. I let her have my cart and say sorry, I can't shop any longer, here is my cart. She snubs me. :)
I head up towards the exit, there is a gentleman checking out and I ask him if he is the manager on duty. He lets me know he is the supervisor on duty. I express to him how unhappy I am at being in the back corner of the store and having all the lights turned off. All he can say is, you have 10 minutes to shop we are closing.
"No thanks, I can't see in the dark, I will just continue to shop at Walgreens where they have lights on and stay open 24 hours a day."
I miss the Easy Saver Rebates, but they have the new Register Rewards
